Clinical Vision draws on years of clinical information system development expertise, practical clinical experience and most importantly, input from our customers. When we embarked on building Clinical Vision we decided to "bet the farm". We did this in the face of several options:
- We could extend the life of our existing systems by putting a new face on them, making them look and feel like a Windows application. Unfortunately, we still would have had an old, text based system albeit, with a fresh face on it.
- We could have decided to jump on the next idea that came along, two tier client server. Unfortunately, that would not have provided the scalability and security that our existing customers have come to enjoy.
- We could be patient and wait for the right technology that would not only provide replacement functionality against our legacy systems, it would also enable us to achieve "leap-frog criteria" in our market.
When we looked closely at our options, the hardest decision was the one that would require the greatest amount of effort, resources and risk. However, the greatest rewards often come with the greatest risks. We have delivered on this option with Clinical Vision and our customers are starting to see the rewards.
Clinical Vision is built on the following principles:
Ease of Use:
To be readily adopted into today's clinical environment, software systems must facilitate the collection, display and trending of clinical data. We have been successful in providing an elegantly simple user interface that will shorten learning curves and facilitate user adoption. We have eliminated many of the navigation pitfalls common in software design, including: "tunneling" from screen to screen, cumbersome drop down list navigation and icons that require memorization for navigation.
Comprehensive:
Our legacy systems, PROTON, RENLStar and di-PROTON , are the most comprehensive and flexible clinical information systems in our marketplace. Clinical Vision extends that legacy and enhances it by providing easier access to real time information and simpler retrieval of historical data. more>>
Flexible:
Each customer and every user is unique. Clinical Vision has the ability to configure lists to individual customer's needs, limit views by role type, manage access through security limits, and define screen flow to match clinical processes.
Accessible:
With Clinical Vision, point of care information can be accessed anywhere in the world. This is accomplished through the utilization of multiple deployment alternatives inclusive of the web, PC client and thin client.
Scalable:
Single clinics, individual hospitals, integrated delivery networks and large single specialty enterprises all have unique needs and scalability requirements. Clinical Vision is designed to fit your organization without the risk of hardware obsolescence. For individual clinics and hospitals, Clinical Vision can be deployed locally or over the web on a single application server. For our largest partners, either multi-specialty integrated delivery networks or multi-site enterprises, Clinical Vision is intelligent enough to seek processing power where available, greatly reducing hardware requirements and obsolescence risk.
Reporting:
Clinical Vision incorporates a powerful reporting tool that enables standard and ad hoc reporting. Reports can be written/edited by the users via a drag and drop interface. All data items in Clinical Vision can be included in the reports.
Departmental Integration:
Clinical Vision is designed to meet the needs of either single departments or to handle the complexity of multi-department deployments. Integration of data promotes the sharing of clinical information, maximizing continuity of care.
Systems Integration:
Clinical Computing has a dedicated team to provide integration with other systems, including HISS, ADT, PAS, EPR, lab, billing, data repository and medical equipment. All interfaces from Clinical Computing are HL7 compliant, with custom interfaces also available.
Future Resistant:
The selection of future resistant technologies is a cornerstone to our success. Clinical Vision's component architecture ensures that changes to portions of the system have little or no impact to the balance of the system. Third party software is used where logical to leverage the expertise of market leaders in other areas of technology. This allows Clinical Computing to focus on delivering high-end clinical solutions as our core competency. Back to Top |
